Mayor Gary Moses Elected in the May 2024 General Election, Gary Moses and his family have called Cross Plains home for over 20 years. He is heavily involved in the community in addition to being a business owner and working at the school. Mayor's Responsibilities The Mayor is elected at large by Cross Plains Residents and serves a two year term with no term limits. The Mayor is the presiding officer of the City Council. The Mayor is recognized as head of the city government for all ceremonial purposes and by the governor for purposes of military law. The Mayor may debate and discuss any matter before the City Council but only votes in the event of a tie. When authorized by the Council, the Mayor signs all official documents. The Mayor appoints, with the advice and consent of the Council, the members of citizens advisory boards and commissions.
